British sportscar star Ben Barker will carry the logos of surface coating equipment specialist RK Print through the coming motorsport season, having renewed links that saw both appear on the top step of the podium at Le Mans in 2014.
Barker, who has yet to formally confirm his main programme for 2015, emerged victorious after a tense two-car Porsche Carrera Cup battle, defeating German champion Kevin Estre and a 62-strong grid, at the iconic French venue. The RK Print logos featured prominently on the doors of his Parr Motorsport-run entry and will appear on the Briton’s crash helmet for the whole of 2015.
“I am really excited that RK is joining me again this season,” 23-year old Barker commented, “Having shared a top step celebration at Le Mans last year, I hope that that combination of good fortune brings us more wins this season.”
Barker’s season kicked off with his now annual trip ‘down under’ to contest the Bathurst 12 Hours, where he was in contention for a second successive win until contact from another car sent him into the gravel with just minutes remaining. Despite the incident denying the Grove Group team victory, Barker still crossed the line in second place to secure another podium visit.
A busy 2014 campaign saw the Briton competing in the prestigious Porsche Mobil1 Supercup, as well as selected races in the US-based Tudor United Sportscar Championship, and the coming year looks set to be similarly hectic.
“I have some great plans in the pipeline which I will be able to announce in the near future,” Barker teased, “I will be honoured to carry the RK Print logo into battle wherever I am racing and can’t wait to get back on track and challenging for further victories.”
